Jon Scheyer

Jon Sheyer is an All-American basketball player. He led his high school team (Glenbrook North) to the state championship as a junior. After his high school career he went over to Duke and played for them for four years. Scheyer was invited to play at a Miami Heat camp before the season and he could have had great success if he didn't get severely hurt his eye. After recovering from that he then tried the L.A Clippers training camp but he was not to successful because his eye injury was not fully healed. He then played 16 games for the Houston Rockets D-league team and did well. Then he went to Israel and had great success there. He signed a two year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv for 450,000$. And now he is playing in the 76ers summer league and see if he has a potential career with them. I think that he will somehow make it in the NBA even though he will have to work his way up into better teams and take his time.

Club Starz Review

Club Starz is a teen nightclub where kids (14-18) can enjoy most of the benefits of a nightclub while it being still fun. I had an average time there because they misinformed us about many things such as...they said there was going to be two separate rooms with different music but when I went there was only one. Also the DJ repeated songs and had sound difficulties with random pauses and he also kept repeating who he was and what he did and it got really annoying and frustrating. Also they said that if you wanted to get in you could buy "VIP" or "normal", but there is absolutely NO difference between them. They just say that so they can make more money, Its 5$ extra that you will never get back. On the bright side there was a lot of freedom and a good room to party in. They also had food couches and pretty decent light affects. I recommend that if you go you buy the normal entry and that you bring as many friends as possible because everything is more fun with your friends. Also you need some type of identification like a student ID or a passport to prove that your of age. The next one is Tuesday July 24 2012. A link to there page is listed below...:)

The Fourth Of July?

The fourth of July is the most american holiday there is. Everyone around the country is relaxing and watching fireworks on this day. Everyone loves it so much but do they even know why we celebrate it. People now in day don't understand the meaning behind the holiday. Its almost like being Jewish and celebrating Christmas! Fourth of July is the day that the United States gained its independence from Great Britain. The meaning behind the fireworks is that on the last fight of the war the flag still remained standing even though there were so many bombs and other explosives. That is why everyone goes to see fireworks at their local parks when the time comes. I enjoy this holiday myself but I think its sad that not enough people know the meaning behind it. I remember the last time I celebrated fourth of July it was little sad because the adults just got drunk and I even saw numerous American flags on the ground. I think schools should do a better job on teaching children from an early age the meaning of the fourth of July.

Freshman?...Or...Freshmeat?

High school is a big change in everyone's lives and can decide your whole future. High school is different from the previous levels of school. Longer periods, more freedom, harder classes and wayyyy more drama. In High School, you can't start of at the top, you have to gradually build your way up. And in order to do that you have to deal with being at the bottom of the food chain. Which is commonly known as freshman year. Freshman year is the kickoff to your high school career. It is probably the socially hardest year because you meet a lot of new people and you have to deal with the other three grade levels ahead of you. The trick is to try to enjoy it and just wait because all the seniors now went through what you are going through. Everyone is scared or nervous in there own way. Some people are scared of the older kids, others are scared of the harder classes and some are scared of making the athletic teams that they want to join. I'm sure that in time people will find there own thing and fit in but at first everyone starts the same. On the first day of high school everyone is fresh with brand new opportunities. What happened the previous years don't count for anything. What really matters is that you can balance your time and do all the things you want to do and get your school work completed. I am an incoming freshmen and i'm trying to stay calm because after I get used to it, i'm going to make the most of it...
